Savanna Intense, Single Cask |
|
Already rewarded with a silver medal at the IWSC
competition in London in the 55° white rum category,
our traditional rum has been maturing in oak cask
for 4 years. This cask #35 preserves the sweetness
that is typical to our traditional Savanna Intense
rums.
So as to preserve the authenticity of this unique
product, the rum has been bottled at a degree
of 46° without any adding or assembly.
This selection of Savanna Intense Single Cask with
a strong and extraordinary aroma, has been selected
for its atypical notes of white pulp fruits and for
its elegant wooded colour.
This specificity results from the maturing process
this rum underwent in one of our oldest oak cask
(more than 40 years old of age) from the stock of
our Savanna storehouses located in Saint-Paul and
locked since 1995. |

Savanna Lontan, Cask strength |
|
A world premiere: Distillerie de Savanna now belongs to the only
4 distilleries in the world manufacturing Grand Arome rums. Distillerie de Savanna is the only one to market these rums in bottles.
Our Savanna Lontan rum, Grand Arome rum, made a double “premiere”:
firstly because it is the first Grand Arome rum being matured in
oak cask, secondly because it is a cask strength selection.
Bottled after a filtering process at the natural degree of the
cask without any adding or assembly so as to preserve the a the authenticity
of this unique product, this selection of Savanna Lontan Casl Strength
is unique thanks to its strength in aroma, to its exceptional longevity
in mouth and also thanks to the complexity of its flavours. |

A particular attention paied to packaging |
|
To design a packaging for these unique products, Distillerie de Savanna relied on the know-how of a local communication
agency. The specifications
were very precise: value the exceptional properties of the products;
develop tags in respect of the confidentiality and the craftsmanship
peticular to Single Cask and Cask Strength; integrate on tags
information specific to the selected rum (bottling, cask
number…) and
create an over-packaging with a strong and eye-catching visibility
to make the difference in cellar man displayers.
The Novialom agency that has already created all the packaging of
the range opted for sobriety so as to underlines the upscale property
of these new products while keeping the graphical symbols of Savanna
rums.
The bottle has a Cognac style. Printed on verged paper, tags describe
in details the peticularity of each Rum: distillation and maturation
periods, kind of cask selected, date of bottling, bottle and cask
numbers, signature of the Storehouse Master, Single Cask or Casl
Strength designations, degree and volume
The over-packaging was made in blue fluted cardboard that has
been bossed with the graphical sign stamped on the previous white
rum bottles (upper part of the bottle). Tags remind of the Latin
motto of Reunion Island: “Florebo Quecomque Ferar” (Wherever
I may be sent, I’ll be blossoming). This motto and the drawing
of a boat were already stamped on the tags of the first marketed
rums of Distillerie de Savanna in 1948. They were named the Bourbon
Rums. |
