  Arranged Rums

How to receive your guests: a typical tradition and savoir-vivre from Reunion Island

The principle is easy as you merely need to have: fresh fruits, plants or spices marinating in rum. In a mere jar, put a couple of litchis, a little bit of sugar or honey and the Savanna Intense traditional rum… Marinate this mixture during several weeks and you are all set! You and your guests will be delighted to savour sweet liquor tinged with fruit flavours.

Much more than this easy principle, the secret of very good arrange drums depend on the hints conveyed from generation to generation. Some would marinate their arranged rum during a very long time, some would mix more fruits or aromatic herbs so as to make the taste evolving with years, some other would make marinate their jars 10 centimetres under a ground strongly illuminated… Sometimes, the mystic part of tradition is very important as it may explain the chemistry or the creativity of the most famous taste creators.
